Uninsured Driver

If you are injured as a result of a car accident involving an uninsured driver or a hit and run driver, you are not the only one.

The Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) has recently published a study, revealing that each year in UK, there are nearly 23,000 injured victims and 160 fatalities caused by uninsured or untraced drivers.

There are approximately 1.4 million drivers on UK roads without a valid insurance policy.

The Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB)

The MIB was set up to pay compensation to victims who suffered injuries due to negligent driving of someone without a valid car insurance cover at the time of an accident.

All insurance companies have to contribute to this fund, so that innocent victims can make an uninsured driver claim.

How long do I have to put in a compensation claim?

Usually you have three years to start legal proceedings for personal injury, however in the case of claims related to Asbestos or delayed symptoms you would have three years from the date the symptoms / causes were identified by a professional.

If in doubt about your right to claim or if a deadline is fast approaching please call us we will be happy to look into your case.
